As far as the eye can see, in the village of Kete Kesu, there is a traditional Toraja house, namely tongkonan carefully aligned. The special thing about this traditional house is that it is made WITHOUT USING FLOATS and only by stacking wood in this way.
It looks like a house on stilts. The special feature of the tongkonan is the door of the house that opens upwards and the roof is made of black fibre covered back stilts. The shape of the roof resembles a buffalo horn. The average traditional house in Kete Kesu is about 300 years old!
At the bottom of the Tongkonan usually have a pit. These are usually used as cages for pets. The interior of the house is divided into several areas, one of which is for the STORAGE of family members or relatives who CANNOT BE ENTERED until the grave or memorial is built.... it may take many months before.
