Next to Bath Abbey (Somerset) you would come across a marble statue of "Rebecca" pouring water from a jug. The inscription says "Water is best"- which makes sense given the fact that Bath as a city developed around the thermal spa the Romans had built two millennia ago and that Bath still today is a spa city. However, the sculpture was erected in 1861 and has nothing to do with bathing, but everything with drinking. Behind it was the local Temperance Society trying to convince the population to switch from wine and beer to water - a rather difficult enterprise when we remember that one of Jesus' most prominent miracles was turning water into wine.
