Palpable unease

The use of fossil fuels and of plastic is at the heart of modern life, mine included. "Going green" is not simply a matter of willpower and a personal decision, it will require a profound transformation of the way we live. And more, and a lot more difficult, it presupposes that humanity would be able to overcome its greediness. We shall see, but it is clear that the experiences of the past are not encouraging. The unease will be with us for a long time. Applying Gandhi's famous dictum to this question: "A green civilisation? That would be a wonderful idea!"
