La laguna è quell’area costiera dove il mare si riposa incuneandosi dentro la terra, che si modella ai suoi umori accogliendo ampi specchi d’acqua salmastra chiamati valli. I pescatori ne hanno fatto, da tempi antichi, luogo di pesca.
È la natura che ha eletto questi ambienti umidi molto particolari ad habitat ideali di specie ittiche, vegetali ed avifaunistiche. Quella veneta è la laguna più famosa e celebrata al mondo.

The lagoon is that coastal area where the sea rests by wedging itself into the land, which shapes itself to its moods by welcoming large stretches of brackish water called valleys. Fishermen have made it a fishing spot since ancient times.
It is nature that has chosen these very particular humid environments as ideal habitats for fish, plant and avifaunal species. The Venetian lagoon is the most famous and celebrated in the world.
