Cultivated Serenity: Well-Tended Shokawa Cherry Tree

On our trip to Japan in April we drove in the mountain region of the Gifu Prefecture. On the way to Shirakawago we stopped at the Shokawasakura Park. The Shokawa cherry trees once grew on the grounds of Shōrenji Temple and Kōrinji Temple, but they were transferred to their current location when the dam below was constructed. Both trees are estimated to be more than five hundred years old. This is the Shōrenji (照連寺) tree.

I processed a paintery and a balanced HDR photo from tree RAW exposures, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.
