Hot ashes for trees? Hot air for a cool breeze?

The Swiss community local in the Silicon Valley organized a hike at the Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space Preserve near Morgan Hill, California, followed by a wine tasting at a local winery. This naked California Sycamore tree caught my attention.

I processed a balanced HDR photo from 3 RAW exposures, blended them selectively, carefully adjusted the color balance and curves, and desaturated the image. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.
