Earlier this year we went to the Point Bonita Lighthouse on the California coast for sunset. The National Park Service offers monthly full moon/sunset walks at the Point Bonita Lighthouse in the Marin Headlands north of San Francisco. The tour is limited to 50 people and fills up quickly, so make your reservations early if you'd like to go. I took this shot of the tower shortly after sunset.
This lighthouse like most others use a so called Fresnel lens to make a strong light beam pointing in one direction. A Fresnel lens can be made much thinner than a comparable conventional lens.
I processed a balanced and a paintery HDR photos from a RAW exposure, merged them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate your critical feedback.
