Super bloom in California desert

The California drought is officially over. With this, the wildflowers returned in spring. On Earth Day we drove 4 hours south to see the super bloom at the Carrizo Plain National Monument. Only yellow flowers remained at lower elevation, so we took the dirt road to the top of the Caliente mountain. The super bloom was in full swing up there, a delight for the eyes and soul.

I processed an enhanced HDR photo from two RAW exposures, and carefully adjusted the color balance and pulled the curves.
