'Alfie' - the other (original) side.
According to the owner (not a fan of castles and roses) the painting was done at the suggestion of an unknown artist in collaboration with the previous owner/friend who selected the subject, 'Alfie' the 1966 film starring Michael Caine. When considering having the other side also painted the friend's wife requested 'something brighter' misheard by the artist as 'Brighton' - hence the waterfront and 'Quadrophenia' reference. www.flickr.com/photos/petertee/50050889791/in/dateposted-...
