Belvedere Marittimo
I tried to capture in this shot what I love most about Belvedere Marittimo and that’s just walking its tunnel like back alleys where you emerge into sunlit little pockets then plunge back into deep shade it provides lots of photo ops especially during midday when lighting conditions are at their most difficult. The views from the old town to the marina are as spectacular as the name of the city implies and the beaches along this part of the coast are a hidden secret to those tourists that flock to better known Diamante or Scalea. Some of the typical dishes of the town include a pasta dish seasoned with a sauce prepared from pork ribs, sausage, and chops also during the feast of San Daniele fried cod with peppers and a stew of tripe heart, liver and lungs are typical dishes celebrating the towns patron.
