Scilla 2
This shot is taken from the porticoed stone tunnel at the foot of the castle mount, it captures the start of the Marina Grande and it’s “Beach of Sirens” and even in the cover of darkness its song still calls. It is hard to convey the serenity that can be found soaking in the smells, sights and sounds of the sea in the early morning waiting for the sun to rise, it must be what keeps fishermen coming back every morning while most of the town slumbers away. Turning around where we stand and following Vico II Spirito Santo in the opposite direction you will reach the fishing marina and see the start of the Chianalea, on your way take notice but be respectful of the small Fishermen’s chapel “Madonnina del Mare” on your right as you pass through the tunnel.
I took this on Sept 15th 2023 with my D850 and Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 G2 Lens at 26mm, 1/30s, f2.8 ISO 6400 processed in LR, PS +Lumenzia ,Topaz, and DXO
