Guardiagrele

Some places you visit don’t have a lot of spectacular monuments or towering churches to show for their existence but if you look real close you sometimes discover that the area itself is the attraction as it is in Guardiagrele. The town is famed throughout Abruzzo for being metal masters, plying their trade forming wrought iron railings, crafting culinary copper and fine gold jewelry design. A walk through the streets will attest to its wrought iron work it is everywhere you look, a great gift from here is a copper oil pot, one has adorned my stovetop since our visit here.
