Souris Lighthouse
Perched high on the cliffs of Knights Point there has been a lighthouse overlooking the town of Souris since 1880, this gem has the distinction of being the last manned lighthouse on PEI with the keeper just retiring in 1991. This is one the few lighthouses that can be climbed, all 42 steps, it also allows access to an external catwalk and at 12.5m you can take in some interesting views of Souris on a clear day you can almost see the Cape Breton Highlands. If lighthouses are not your thing there is an interpretive center established inside the structure showing locally harvested sea glass and how it forms the “Jewels of the Sea”
I took this on Sept 16, 2022 with my D850 and Tamron 24-70 f2.8 G2 Lens at 70mm, 1/100s, f7.1 ISO 64 processed in LR, PS +Lumenzia ,Topaz, and DXO Nik
