From the Vaults-38

Thankfully the tourist hordes have not yet made Utrecht a lady of the evening like its cousin to the north and it still has a great cozy laid-back vibe to it that is reinforced with the humming energy of youth as it is also a major university town.

Travel photography has worked out well for me wandering with my lovely wife as she is a later riser than myself so crawling out of the sheets at 4:30am after carefully arranging my gear to slip out the door unnoticed is a very common occurrence and a great way to practice my hobby without infringing on her enjoyment of our vacations.

Pictured here is a street scene from my morning jaunts, this captures a permanent exhibit from the Utrecht Museum project 'Night Rules-Night Lines' the illuminated signs were derived from advertisements from the 1940’s and installed for the exhibit in 1991 this particular one is in a residential neighborhood and was so loved that the residents wanted it to remain after the exhibition.

I took this with my D750 and Nikon 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens at 28mm 1/5s, f/11 ISO 200 processed in LR, PS +Lumenzia, Topaz Denoise

Disclaimer: My style is a study of romantic realism as well as a work in progress.
