Charismatic Cochem-10

The next morning I left Cochem heading for Aachen with a few stops along the way I had to travel up over the slopes of Cochem to leave the Mosel valley but it afforded me a great view of the castle and town from the other side of the river that I would have missed unless traveling in this direction.

I loved my time in Cochem and would definitely stop here again if I am anywhere near it the people are lovely and welcoming and the scenery wine and food are to beat on top of this.

A last bit of legend about this story book Castle is that during the White Sunday the Sunday after Easter one of the servants from the castle was on his way to call on his sweet heart in a neighboring village and came across a large party of armed men resting and he overheard them discussing attacking the castle.

The servant rushed back to the castle and warned the knights there about the impending attack the well prepared knights easily defeated the attackers thanks to the warning and the next day had a celebration.

Since this victory then they have celebrated with a feast in the servants honor every Knipp Monday or so the story goes.

I took this with my D750 and Tamron SP 24-70mm 2.8 G2 Lens at 70mm 1/30, f/11 ISO 100 processed in LR, Topaz Denoise, PS (Lumenzia curves masks and DXO Nik Color Efex)

Disclaimer: Not trying to be realistic in my editing there is enough realism in the world, my style is a mix of painterly and romanticism as well as a work in progress.
