Scintillating Sankt Goar-1
After having completed my KD Rhine cruise to Koblenz I had a quick bite at the train station then I took the train back to Oberwesel to pick up my car later that night and drove to my next stay in Sankt Goar before continuing down the river.
St Goar is a sleepy town with a lot of history and visual delights with the ruins of Rhinefels castle above it and directly across in its sister town Sankt Goarshausen there is Castle Katz pictured here and Castle Maus of the Cat and Mouse fame stories of the area.
Also very close is the Lorelei rock cliffs where so many ships sank or broke on the rocks that they say a siren lived there calling the sailors to their deaths.
The weather finally changed from rain to some blue sky so I made the effort to be up and about very early to get some shots of the sunrise framing Burg Katz, a small tip I could offer is that on the change from bad weather to good there are usually (not always) good sky colors on the transition.
I took this with my D750 and Tamron SP 70-200mm 2.8 G2 Lens processed in LR, PS luminosity masks and DXO Nik
Disclaimer: Not trying to be realistic in my editing there is enough realism in the world, my style is a mix of painterly and romanticism as well as a work in progress.
