Glue factory fumes.

I was shooting some promotional shots for a friend at the Glue factory in Glasgow. As the name suggests it is a disused glue factory. The event was a visual arts display featuring over 50 visual artists. It was spectacular despite the cold, people were adorned with hats and gloves while exploring the array of presentations. It was titled BYOB or bring your own beemer. If there's another on in the future I would highly recommend going, despite the above depiction it was quite indescribable.

It is not uncommon in Glasgow for the smoking area outside of events to be used as a place of collective activity, clubs being too loud for substantial converse. In the past it has been a place to enjoy introductions, receive invites or catch up with a friend. Despite toying with whether or not I have a nicotine addiction, having been an on and indeed off smoker for years. Invariably at some stage in an evening I will consistently, perhaps even habitually end up outside bumming a grateful rollie from some obliged friend. I find this phenomenon definitively Glaswegian, it confirms our reputation as a socially inviting city. We're always willing to brave the cold to "chum" a friend, or give, borrow or beg a cigarette.

I think that the misty quality of the picture is a mixture of exhaled cigarettes and simply people breathing in the cold evening air.
