‘If at any stage in Roman history they got three emperors in a row who didn’t get murdered, that was a winning streak.’

(From: A Fatal Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum - Murder In Ancient Rome’, by Emma Southon, 2020).

Nassau, 24 May 2023: Dr. Ingrid Jones of the University of Barbados, at the moment of discovery of the sunken villa of Marcus Aurelius Valerius Maxentius, in the Bahamas. The villa was found at a water depth of just two meters. It is the greatest scientific discovery of the century. Research is on-going to determine the nature of the tiled floor, believed to be a Vestibulum or Atrium. Hitherto Emperor Maxentius was believed to have perished by drowning in the Tiber river, never having been recognized as a legitimate emperor by his fellow emperors. He is now believed to have fled to the New World instead.
