Magneto-optical disk

Data storage media based on magnetic recording and optical data reading.

There have been available three standard sizes of these media:

- 130 mm (5,25 inch) MOD

- 90 mm (3,5 inch) MOD

- minidisc

 

Minidiscs were better known as media for audio recording and therefore were labeled as 74 or 80 minutes, but for professional audio data storage have beed also available 140 MB versions or later also 1GB audio/data minidiscs called Hi-MD.
