Fearless Heart

The Heart is probably the loudest body part. Or the craziest. Or the most fearless. Not sure. But if the Brain produces 12 closely-written pages with well-argumented reasons why “This is a really bad idea, you know?”, the Heart just goes “Yeah, whatever… maybe later man. I’m gonna go and fall madly in love with this thing over here now”. And sure, sooner or later the Brain gets to say “Hah! Told you so!”, but… I’ve noticed that life has (approx.) 3 love-stages:

1: Before you have been hurt.

2: After you’ve been hurt, when you’re cautious and hesitant, when every stirring of the Heart is followed by a frightened “There’s a reason not to want this!”-shout from the Brain. When “No” is the default-answer to desire.

3: When you’re experienced enough to know that everything in life is doomed in one way or another, because even life ends one day, and that the scars you get along the way are not signs of pain or failure, but proof of a life lived to the fullest. That the opposite of pleasure isn’t pain, but fear and apathy. And that bittersweet memories are soooo much better than no memories at all.

(Note: the petal looked like that when I found it, no manipulation whatsoever)
