The fleet's in!
Fishing boats in any port are always a lovely sight, but there’s something about these brightly coloured boats with their fluttering red flags that make the Vietnamese fleet quite special.
These boats, in a fishing village south of Nha Trang, usually head to the sea in the late afternoon and stay out all night, returning with their catches in the early morning. With a coastline of 3,260 kilometres, it’s estimated that the country’s fishing fleet comprises more than 120,000 boats like these (and some a lot smaller).
