Osterley's riot of blue

At Osterley Park the other day, we were still in time to enjoy the riot of bluebells, growing in their millions throughout the meadows and woodlands there. Go if you can – it's a sight to gladden the heart!

Osterley Park, owned by the National Trust, covers hundreds of acres and is regarded as one of the last surviving country estates in London. In addition to the ubiquitous bluebells are formal gardens, lakes, ornamental vegetable beds, meadows and woodlands – plus Osterley House itself, redesigned by Robert Adam in the late 18th century.
