Hoarding in front of Leas Pavilion
A peek round the lefthand edge of the hoarding shows that work has not yet started. I have looked up the online brochure for this development. It claims that residents will be able to gain easy access to the beach via the 'restored Leas Lift'. To date there is no sign of this restoration and I have not seen any reference to it in the local press. I do hope that it happens. You can see the blurb about the development at < leas-pavilion.co.uk > . The images presented amaze me as nothing at all has been done yet.
Update: The Leas Lift has recently received funding of £350,000 from the Lotterey Heritage Fund but a further £400,000 needs to be raised by the local community to get the lift back into working order.
