Memorial Arch

This Memorial Arch was erected at the top of 'The Road Of Remembrance' because many soldiers marched down the road to embark on troopships to WWI. Many dislike it because of it's high cost and the fact that it is very close to a MacDonalds and looks too much like half of the MacDonald's logo. It is said to be a shape that is universally recognised as a memorial symbol. I think I am from a different universe because I do not recognise it as such. I think the knitted Poppies that have been fixed to the railings down the Road of Remembrance for many years in November are a much more powerful symbol.
