Snail Kite

Snail Kite ~ (Rostrhamus sociabilis)

 

A Snail Kite flies head on with an Apple Snail in its beak. I was struck by the symmetry of this bird in flight and was thrilled with the eye contact. These birds have really captured my imagination this year, and it has been a privilege to observe and photograph their behavior.
