Great Egret

Great Egret ~ (Ardea alba)

 

A Great Egret snags a fish and inspects the catch briefly before devouring it. I was photographing shorebirds when this guy landed close by with the fish and caught me off-guard. Camera settings were not ideal, but I took the shots with the settings I had, because those fish don't last long before they are down the hatch!
