Florida Scrub Jay ~ (Aphelocoma coerulescens)

 

The beautiful Florida Scrub Jay. The only species of bird that is endemic to Florida. They are endangered due to habitat loss. They are extremely social birds and work very much as a community. A nesting pair of adult birds has other scrub jays in the flock that assists in feeding the young and defending their territory.
