Nanday Parakeet

Nanday parakeet (Aratinga nenday) ~ Pinellas County, Florida

 

A bird that is typically found in South America, it has established populations in Tampa Bay and a few other areas of Florida. Most likely their origins here are from pet-trade escapees in the 60s and 70s.
