Sligachan Bridge

Sligachan bridge is the oldest known standing bridge in skye built between 1810 and 1818 although a new bridge has been built next to it Sligachan remains a hugely important junction as its part of the only road leading to the west end of the island.

Skye is an island full of myths and legends and this bridge holds a tale of its own. Its believed you can gain eternal beauty from the waters below the bridge. You must go on your hands and knees at the waters edge to fully submerge your face in the water for 7 seconds, (you cant bring the water up to your face). Unfortunately for me we had no running water in the river it was completely frozen due to the extreme weather.

I wouldn't usually shoot a bridge straight on but with the stunning black cullin mountains painted with snow there was no way i couldn't use this as the backdrop.
