Eastern Tailed Blue - bleu porte-queue de l'Est - Everes comyntas
I didn't set out Sunday, late afternoon, thinking I would find a butterfly. I was planning a late afternoon - early evening look at local wetlands, searching for fall migrants: Grebes, various uncommon duck species, etc.
These are amazingly small creatures, but with such intricate designs, and apparently a real hardiness and resilience. These had to be the last open flowers in the meadow.
