Northern Cardinal

One of the neat things about the change in the length of daylight is the triggering of the hormones in birds and the corresponding change in their behaviours. Northern Cardinals are incredibly shy, and flee any contact with humans. But the stress of hormones, territory, and other males makes them more or less oblivious to us.
