Black Darter

A good day for dragonflies on the local moors yesterday, with Common Hawkers patrolling each pool and Black Darters making short flights between clumps of heather. This darter was obliging enough to rest up on a patch where there was still plenty of heather in flower. I managed to get a few shots of it through the flowers in the foreground.
