Pete Arnold1
LBLR in the 1960s (28 of 53)
Arnolds' No.42 (MR 7710) with empties on the points known as the "dud loop" - probably better described as a sand drag. Beyond here loaded trains faced a steep climb through the Marley Tile Company's yard and these points were installed to prevent any runaways reaching Hockliffe Road level crossing. The points had a weighted lever and train drivers proceeding towards Billington Road were supposed to ensure that the points were left facing the sand drag. 9/1/1962
