LBLR in the 1960s (19 of 53)

Arnolds' No.17 (MR 4707) returning empties from Stonehenge Bricks to Chamberlain's Barn Quarry. The train is on the sharp curve of the branch line at the edge of the quarry. The hedgerow seen above the wagon marks the main line descending from Bryan's Loop. This train has come down that gradient, reversed along this section of branch line and is about to change direction again and run forwards to carry on along the line around quarry edge. A year or two later the line off to the left of this photo was extended some 3/4 mile to serve Arnolds' newly opened New Trees Quarry. 9/1/1962
