Duck à l'orange
Sorry, but I couldn't resist this title.. I was thinking along similar lines but it really only had one title... after it was suggested to me by Mike (Muddyboots) - www.flickr.com/photos/muddybootsuk
A phenomenal morning on Ullswater, and I'd decided to go tight in with the long lens on to get this image showing the light over the lake and also the detailed layers of hills to rear of the image with the more in shadow nearer hills dropping into the lake..
As I was getting ready to shoot I was aware that the duck (OK so it's a Goose..) was swimming about and was potentially a massive distraction as it was in the wrong place and disturbing all the perfectly still water, it happens a lot, and there's not a thing you can do about it, I did hope though that it might, just might swim into the emerging light reflection in the lake, either it was attracted by the bright light (or I'd like to think it must have sensed my frustration) as it just turned around did exactly that! so instead of ruining my shot I really think it makes it and adds another element to this image. It only did it once as well for a split second ...
So the title was kind of mandatory, . .
Mike's done a Youtube video of the trip which actually includes this sunrise, which he was shooting further along the Lake - you can it see here, give it a watch it's really good. -
