One day on the road
76/365: Day one of the conference. I have completely forgotten how to operate the old Elph -- everything blurs! Not sure I could have done any better even with the Rebel and a tripod, though -- there is something about this hotel room that saps creativity. I told Kirk last night -- this hotel and the surrounding mall complex look eerily similar to a level in Silent Hill / BioShock / generic zombie slasher video game. It's the abandoned hotel! With purposeless bridges over voids and locked gates and arches that lead nowhere and tons of unlabeled doors and vague music coming from somewhere. I used to think those levels were total products of fantasy on the part of level designers -- what real world place would honestly employ such baroque uselessness as an architectural style? Now I know it's the Hyatt Regency at Union Station. Pictures to come tomorrow once the battery charges...
