12/365 -- Washed Up
I may have over-indulged on the Spice and Meat Lovers pizza at lunch time and started feeling a little funny afterwards. It seemed like a nap was the best course of action at that point.
After I lay down for a while and began to drift off to sleep I began to get the feeling that the bed was rocking back and forth. The motion was pleasant at first but presently the whole bed started to crash about in all directions. I became quite startled and tried to wake myself up, but to my alarm I found that I could not. I swear that as I lay there tossed about to all four corners of the compass, I heard a great wind blowing and howling. Then there came the sound of people yelling in fear and cries for help. This went on for some time and then mercifully darkness and calm came and I slept.
When, after a time I came to my senses, I tried to sit up in bed, but found that I was somehow restrained. Upon opening my eyes I saw a blue sky overhead rather than the bedroom ceiling I had expected. Struggling again to rise, all I could do was raise my head and as I did there I saw the strangest thing. I was laying on a beach of unknown location, and that which was confining me were tiny chains pulled tight across my body and staked into the sand. But strangest of all was a small flag, planted by some unknown person in one hole of my belt. On the flag was the symbol of a crown, and the strange name, "Lilliput".
