Legend and Patent Statement

 

"In 1886 this DC Dynamo was installed in Edison Station #1, here in Boston. There were several (3 or 4) of these dynamos in the station, each feeding a separate (and independent) distribution line. The operating voltage was about 120. The power rating was '800 lights', perhaps 50 KW."
