Not your usual Great Plains storm chase terrain. The Guadalupe Mountains loft up where the Delaware Basin in west Texas meets the Northwestern Shelf. Those buttes provided a spectacular view beneath the remnants of a gusting supercell as sunset and lightning tried to warm it up—June 1 last year.
