Mosaics parallel my life: at first utter chaos, a seeming clutter of broken bits. It’s not until I pick up that first piece that the rhythm finds me, forces me to be present with the process, and the result simply announces Its self. That’s how it was with Expansion.
I began this piece with the intention to make a table top, but it had other plans. Over the year of its creation, I was pulled to expand into something more, with both artistic and personal development. At its center lays a golden heart, because all things begin with Love. From there a spiral made from mirror emerges reflecting ourselves in the Universal scheme. Seen along its path are many symbolic vignettes, some more obvious than others. And finally, the piece is mounted to spin, further supporting its design for interaction and contemplation. May it facilitate your own personal expansion
