Keeping up the spirit
Originally taken by my dad back in July. The nose tube ended up creating quite a scar.
At this point (late July 2007) I weighed about the least I ever have in my adult life: less than 150 pounds (68 kg), after nearly three weeks in hospital. That's some 50 pounds (23 kg) lighter than my previous normal weight of 200 pounds (91 kg). It took more than two months to gain back about 30 pounds (14 kg), stabilizing in the 175-180 pound (79-82 kg) range by the fall of 2007, when I started more chemo. By early 2008, I was back to a much more normal weight, but my hair was getting scraggly and grey.
