Some Homes Evacuated; Police Say Stay Out of Park
PENDLETON (December 22, 2013) Around 4 p,m. I went back to see what around Pendleton to see what the the conditions were. My first stop was at Falls park where several people, including Falls Park manager, Ron Barnhart, are steadily working trying to remove the water from the Community Building.
Earlier today Falls Park put out a call for volunteers and supplies to help deal with the rising water.

I spoke to a couple residents who live just adjacent to Falls Park, Dan and David . They said 10 years ago on Labor Day the flooding was worse than what we have now.
The Pendleton Police Department has told everyone to stay out of the park because the the current conditions there. Not everyone was heading that warning this afternoon.
I spoke to Falls Park manager, Ron Barnhart, who had gathered a few volunteers to help keep the water pushed out of the Community Building.
After leaving Falls Park I went to the west side of Pendleton where flooding conditions were no better; maybe worse.
On the west side of SR38 there was a home that he water had gotten up to the bottom of the doorway. There are also homes on the north side of SR38 on the west side of Pendleton also indicated with the flooding water from Fall Creek.
One of those homes belongs to the grandparents of Pendleton-Gazette photographer Dustin Cookman.
I spoke with Todd Baker at his mother;s home that was affected by the flooding. He said they had to move her out of the house because of the conditions there. He said that they’ve been in the area for about 25 years and had not experienced flooding this severe.
Conditions tonight here in Pendleton, Indiana are not good and may get worse during the overnight hours.
