i suppose i should explain.

 

last summer, my boyfriend and i raised two ducks that i got from my genetics, bacteriology, and embryology class in high school. their names were oscar & donald :) donald didn't make it through the summer, but oscar ended up joining the group of ducks that lived on brendan's lake.

 

i was so unbelievably nervous when they left for the winter. all i could do was hope that oscar would make it back safely, and hope that he would come back to the same place!

 

today, brendan and i went to his house because his mom told us she thought she saw oscar on the lake. when we went down to the water and started whistling and calling his name, he ran right out of the bushes on the beach and started swimming (while quacking just like he used to) right toward us :D i started crying, which is incredibly dorky, but i was so happy!!

 

i took plenty of other, better pictures today, but when i look back at these pictures after the year is over, will i be happier to see a picture of my baby, or one of some random trees? i hope you know the answer :)
