Clouds above The Storr

Rant:

Spring is in the air, why should I? At least I feel it in my blood, after a well deserved skiing vacation the sun finally is back in the country and things are getting sunnier, these are the prime reasons I'm a bit quiet on Flickr these days...

 

About:

When driving around the Island of Skye in 2010 ( it's that long ago and still haven't finished processing my pictures of that vacation... Two weeks ago I decided to go through my Skye pictures to see what I missed and what to expect in August). Long sidenote aside, thus I was driving along the road when I suddenly saw clouds forming above that mountain, I couldn't resist stopping and taking a picture, I remember it was rather windy and the clouds didn't take too long to move on, but I got it on a picture anyway...

 

Only later when processing the picture I found out this is The Storr with to the right the Old Man Of Storr

Technical stuff:

Exposure: 1/100 sec at f/11 at -1/3 EV

Taken with: Nikon D90 and 18-105 mm f/3.5-5.6 at 42mm

HDR photo merged in Photomatix, processed in Oloneo PhotoEngine, tweaking in Photoshop: made the lump of land on the right a little bit lighter. Slight blur on the water to remove some of the 'sharp' edges of the little waves.

Crop to about 16x10 to remove uninteresting foreground of the lake.
