Project 365 - 2008.9.4
Project 366 2008 Sep 4 248/366
One of the fun part of my jobs at work is to upgrade computer systems. I was asked to see what I could do for a Windows Media Center Edition 2005 box that I built a almost 3 years ago. It had a 60GB hard drive, 512MB of memory and a Celeron D 2.0GHz processor. Well, it seems I had this strange processor lying around. It's a Prescott processor running on a 533MHz bus. It was one of those unannounced, unassuming processors coming between the Northwood 400MHz FSB processors and the actual 800MHz FSB Prescotts. It's missing the HyperThreading circuitry but does have 1MB of L2 cache. The new MCE box is very silky smooth with 2GB of memory and a 500GB hard drive. :)
