PCC President Lawrence Rouse accepts a $200,000-check from Duke Energy District Manager Millie Chalk during a ceremony Wednesday in the college's Craig M. Goess Construction and Industrial Technology Building. The funding comes through a Duke Energy and Piedmont Natural Gas initiative to connect students with hands-on-training and career development opportunities. PCC will use the money to train students who enroll in the college's electrical, HVAC, industrial systems and welding (curriculum and continuing education) programs and participate in the Pitt Regional Apprenticeship Program. Joining Rouse and Chalk for the presentation were a number representatives from local business and industry and several PCC administrators and staff members.
