The Thirty Dollar Project - Day Three
Today was a day for repeats.
My breakfast started off with oatmeal, milk and the last banana. The family ate the rest of them. Now I am out of both the cuties and the bananas. They would like me to get some more. My grandson taught me that the best way to eat a cutie tangerine is to peel it and put the whole cutie in your mouth. "Then it squirts and feels funny", he says, "and it tastes good too."
My lunch was leftover barley and lentils. I didn't have the cheese and corn tortilla to go with it this time so I got a little hungry and ate the M&Ms.
Dinner was fast to prepare... maybe 10 minutes? Leftover rice, chicken, already cut up broccoli, cut carrots and sliced onions. I seasoned with about 2 tablespoons of sesame seed oil, garlic powder and about 2 tsp of liquid aminos. We all ate a tasty version of chicken fried rice and I have almost 2 cups left over for lunch tomorrow.
My total caloric intake is staying in between 1,200 - 1,500 and my total sodium intake is falling below 1,500 mg... although the total is most likely a couple hundred mgs. higher than what is written below. I do need to drink a little more milk so that I can improve my calcium intake. This is the second day I've fallen short. Not good.
Anyway, that's it. Tomorrow will be over the hump day for me and I will be out of chicken. I'm trying to figure out what I can do with the tofu or should I prepare beans tomorrow... a good night of much needed sleep will help me figure it out.
My flickr friend, John, has purched food for the second week. His diet is looking really good. If you get a chance, stop by and see how he is doing: www.flickr.com/photos/johnfrisch/8268454872/
