Commission - Charlevoix Public Library

Built with over 5,000 bricks from 23 different resellers as far away as Germany in only a month and a half, this 70x70 architectural model of the Charlevoix Library's building and grounds was my first commissioned Lego model, and truly my first architectural replication. The model is built in Adam Reed Tucker's style with my own artistic "voice" added to the mix. Starting with only the original blueprints of the building, and some photographs and drawings, I designed the building itself in LDD before agonizing over how to produce a parts list from the program, and free-handing the grounds, parking lot, and landscaping. The build was a blast, and I can't thank the library enough for giving me this opportunity.

Though the model is now property of the library and under permanent display in the lobby, they might just be kind enough to let me take the model out on loan for Brickworld 2013 so you can see it in person. We'll see.

And as of the 17th, my new website, paulvermeesch.com is live. This site will be a portfolio of sorts as well as an umbrella for my different interests, and a method by which I can be contacted more easily. Tied to that, I am also launching my new commissions-based business, Miniature Modeling, in conjunction with paulvermeesch.com/lego. Bop on over to let me know who where or what you'd like to see constructed from Lego bricks, and I'd love to talk with you!
