Seed fiddle, Marazion Museum, Cornwall
The seed fiddle operated like drawing a bow across a fiddle (hence the name).
The fiddle was attached to a grain box or a bag. When the bow was drawn, it turned a star shaped wheel which threw out the seed in a regular pattern. The rate of the seed could be adjusted by a lever.
