8X10 test of the old "magic lantern" lens.
Early this morning test, heavily foggy morning but as I got the Deardorff set up, the fog diminished in the east just enough to reveal the disc of our Sun.
Deardorff fitted with the brass lantern lens, no aperture info available, but I'm estimating its effectively around f8. I put a #25 red filter over the lens to act as "neutral density" so I could use my hand as a shutter (about 3/4 second exposure). The neg is fairly dense - as it ought to be when exposing for fog luminance values - but made a very nice scan. There was definite vignetting created by the lens (it doesn't fully cover 8X10) but I accentuated the vignette in Lightroom.
